If you’re in the planning stage for your Branson weekend getaway and looking for fun activities to add to your vacation itinerary, you’ve landed in the right place!
Weekend getaways can be fun but it takes organization and careful planning to get the most out of the trip. So, we totally get why you’re researching ahead of time. Here’s our recommendations for Branson weekend getaway activities sorted by activity type.
Best Branson weekend getaway bites
Looking for somewhere to eat in Branson delivers a dizzying array of results. If you aren’t searching for a specific type of food, we suggest looking for the atmosphere you desire.
If you’re on a Branson weekend getaway with your family and you’re wanting dinner and a show, there’s the cant-miss Dolly Parton’s Stampede. If that’s too rich for your blood, maybe Jackie B. Goode’s Uptown Cafe is the better suggestion. We have another blog full of fun places to eat in Branson if you want to compare more options.
If it’s more about the food on the plate rather than entertainment value, Dobyns Dining Room located in The Keeter Center at the College of the Ozarks offers a farm-to-table dining experience unlike any other.
If it’s southern food you’re after, Local Flavor is likely up your alley. For more restaurants like this, we have suggestions here.
Outdoor activities for a Branson weekend getaway
Anytime there’s a change in season (barring bad weather), getting outside during your Branson weekend getaway is a good idea. Mother Nature’s beauty will be on full display in the Ozarks.
If you love hiking trails, there are several trails fit for whatever level of hiking experience you have. Our personal favorites are at Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area. But if you want to take a look at a few more trails, we have three more areas to consider.
If visiting historical areas is more your thing, this list of 6 historical Branson MO gems has some great suggestions but our favorite is Talking Rocks Cavern. It’s technically outside, but you will be inside a cavern at a comfortable 63 degrees! Best of both worlds!
If you’re willing to pay $50+ per person to do something, Shepherd of the Hills is a pretty cool place.
Family fun activities for a Branson trip
Of course, there’s always Silver Dollar City. However, for the best bang-for-your-buck we love The Track Family Fun Parks. You can grab an unlimited park pass for unlimited go-karts, bumper rides, mini golf, laser tag, Spinning Coaster & Thunder Struck at all operating parks for one day ($50 per) or the full year ($100).
We also really enjoy the Branson Scenic Railway. This vintage train offers a 40-mile round-trip journey that takes you through tunnels, over bridges, and past stunning vistas. Kids will love the chance to ride on a real train and see the beautiful scenery of the Ozarks. You can even take rides that serve dinner!
Branson weekend getaway activities for couples
Is your date the off-roading type? A popular tourist activity has finally made its way to Branson – Iconic Pink Jeep Tours. “Wind past lakeside landmarks and ascend off-road trails to the summit of Baird Mountain while expert, local guides bring centuries of mountain history and culture to life.”
Looking for drinks, grub, and music? Crazy Craig’s Cheeky Monkey Bar could be up your alley. Or The Paddlewheel.
Our best recommendation for a Branson weekend getaway for couples is to start by booking a jacuzzi suite here at Grand Oaks Hotel and making sure the date nights are on point.
