The fun doesn’t stop in Branson when the weather cools down.
There is plenty to do around here even during the winter.
Of course, you know about all of the shows, Silver Dollar City, shopping, and dining in Branson — most of which is still readily available during this time of year.
So, we thought we’d tell you about three things you can do on a winter vacation to Branson that doesn’t include shows or shopping.
Talking Rock Caverns
Don’t let the cold weather keep you in your hotel room.
Talking Rock Caverns stays at a constant 63 degrees and you do not need a reservation to visit!
Take a guided, walking cave tour in this vertical cave featuring living crystal cave formations. People of all ages are welcome, so get the kids and enjoy some fun science! The cave guides are knowledgeable and tell all about the discovery of the cave, history, and share geological information about the cave formations and mineral deposits.
Tours are available all throughout the day.
Before or after your tour, kids (or adults, we don’t judge) can enjoy “mining” for gemstones by buying a bag of sluice. You get to keep all the gemstones you find!
Other activities include putt-putt golf at the Cave Country mini-golf course, breaking your own geode, or (weather-permitting, of course) playing outdoor checkers.
There are also four nature trails nearby hikers of all experience levels can enjoy.
Winter Fishing Trips
Have a fisher in the family? Branson has three lakes perfect for a winter fishing trip.
There’s Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Lake Taneycomo.
Don’t have a boat? There’s plenty of rentals and, if you’ve never been here before, fishing guides available to get you on the water and reeling in the big one.
Trail of lights
What’s your favorite thing about the holiday season? If you answered, “All of the beautiful lights!” this one is for you!
The Trail of Lights features millions of multi-colored Christmas lights and animated displays all throughout the 160-acre Shepherd of the Hills Homestead.
The trail ends at Inspiration Tower where you can see the entirety of the trail as well as up to 90 miles of the Ozarks!
